JURY 2021


Nikolaus Geyrhalter, Jordana Berg, Maya Kuzina, Nadja Tennstedt, Danae Elon and Giedre Zickyte will make up the International feature & Short film Juries 2021. They will decide which films will receive the Main Doker Award, awards for best directing, cinematography, sound and editing in feature films and the Best Short Film Award.


MAIN COMPETITION JURY


Director, producer and cinematographer, founder of Nikolaus Geyrhalter Filmproduktion. Known for his very personal cinematic signature. Without commentary, he lets people and spaces take effect and thus gives the audience freedom of interpretation. Among his numerous awards are the prizes at the Biennale and Viennale, three Grand Prix of the Austrian Diagonale, awards at IDFA, Cinéma du Réel, DOK.fest Munich and many others.


Jordana Berg has been working as a film editor for over 25 years. She was primarily collaborating with Eduardo Coutinho, famous Brazilian filmmaker. Other filmmakers with whom she has worked include the Oscar winner Megan Mylan, Silvio Tendler, José Joffily, Eduardo Escorel and Flavia Castro. Jordana is particularly well known for working with first time directors, helping them to navigate their own creative process.


Сurator at KinoPoisk, documentary film producer. She has 6 years of experience working as Curator of Special Projects at Moscow-based Documentary Film Center. Since April, 2021 she has become Curator of Documentary Film at KinoPoisk. As a producer she is working on a debut work by Maria Dudko which has been selected for Meet Market at Sheffield DocFest. And Blue Rose by Olya Korsun which awaits its international premiere in autumn 2021.


 

SHORT FILMS JURY


Director of DOK Industry at DOK Leipzig. From 2019 — 2021 she coordinated DocSalon, the documentary platform of the European Film Market (EFM). Nadja held positions in marketing, sales and acquisitions at US distributors Zeitgeist Films and Milestone Films. After her return to Europe in 2011 she worked for international film festivals and markets such as the Locarno Film Festival and the EFM.



An award-winning documentary filmmaker, producer and cinematographer. Danae is the recipient of a 2009 Guggenheim fellowship, and in addition has won awards and fellowships from Tribeca Film Festival and the Sundance Institute. Her films have showcased at TIFF, Berlinale, Tribeca, IDFA, Hot Docs, Melbourne, Human Rights Watch, and many other international film festivals



Film director and producer. Her first documentary ’Baras’ has won the best TV film award at Lithuanian National Film Awards. Her first feature documentary ’How We Played the Revolution’ (2011) was distributed theatrically in Lithuania and selected to many international film festivals. The documentary The Earth is Blue as an Orange, that Giedre co-produced, got the best directing award at Sundance IFF and awards at all major film festivals of the world.
