Director, producer and screenwriter 

 

While studying at the University of Television and Film Munich, Lena founded her own production company, KARBE FILM, with a focus on creating documentary content for international audiences.

 

Before transitioning into writing and directing, Lena produced several successful feature films. The documentaries produced by her company often explore themes of immigration and identity search, reflecting her commitment to shedding light on complex social issues. Lena has directed and produced numerous projects in China and Africa, enriching her storytelling with diverse perspectives and cultural insights.

 

Her short documentary film, “The Chinese Dream,” has been showcased at over 30 international festivals around the world, receiving critical acclaim. Her feature-length documentary “Black Mambas” has participated in and won awards at some of the most prestigious documentary film festivals, including CPH:DOX, IDFA, festivals in Guadalajara, Rio de Janeiro, Seoul, Zagreb, Sydney, and many others.
