In a series of raw and heartbreaking stories the director brings the terrifying reality of pedophilia to light, examining its impact on the children, the strategies employed by the predators and the ways in which we, as a society, can put a stop to it and help the survivors.

SVETLANA MAKEEVA

Svetlana Makeeva was born in Tula. In 2016 she graduated from the Tula Regional College of Culture and Art with a degree in theatre arts. In 2021 she graduated from the Institute of Contemporary Art with a degree in TV and radio journalism. In her final year at the institute she started working as a documentary filmmaker, screenwriter, and director for the TOC editorial office.

At the age of 23 she was nominated for TEFI-Multimedia 2021 award with her short documentary No Means No about sexualised violence, where she acted as author, director, and protagonist.

In 2022, as a director, author, and screenwriter, she produced her first feature-length documentary Worlds of Others about schizophrenia.

She participated in international film festivals in Russia, Korea, China, Japan, and India and in 2022-2023 was the winner at Hong Kong World Film Festival and New Delhi Film Festival with Worlds of Others.
