Sven experienced a dramatic childhood. His stepmother abused him. Isolated and marginalised from society, he withdrew himself into an imaginary parallel world populated by fantasy characters. As an adult he encountered the character „The Witcher“ from a video game, and his life took a remarkable turn. He learned to control his aggression and how to break out of his isolation.
THE WITCHER is a film about using phantasy as a survival strategy, and features the real therapeutic benefits of the imaginary. It is a documentary about the unusual relation a man has towards a phantasy figure.
