ABOUT
What is the future of education in a networked world? Indian professor Sugata Mitra sets up an unmanned internet kiosk in a remote Bengali village to pioneer the “School in the Cloud”. The film follows the children as they encounter the internet for the first time. Will they be able to use it to transform their futures, or will it destroy the stability of their way of life?

JERRY ROTHWELL
Jerry Rothwell is an award-winning director of How To Change The World (2016), a Grierson, Sundance and IDA award winner, Tribeca 2010 and Royal Television Society Award winner Donor Unknown, Grierson nominated and the winner of the Royal Television Society Award Town of Runners (2012), Heavy Load, which premiered at SXSW 2008, Grierson award winner Deep Water (2006) co-directed with Louise Osmond, and Netflix’ Sour Grapes, co-directed with Reuben Atlas (Hot Docs 2016). His most recent film is The School in the Cloud commissioned by Sundance Institute. At Met Film Production, he has Executive Produced and worked as an editor on numerous feature docs including Dylan Williams’ Men Who Swim and Sarah Gavron’s Village at the End of the World, and is currently executive producing After a Revolution a documentary shot in Libya, supported by Sundance Institute
