RESTORATIONS

In a judicial system that condemns prisoners to never seeing the end of their sentence, Vincenzo and Antonio try to get at least a social redemption and forgiveness from the community, accepting to start a difficult but humane path of restorative justice.

VITO PALMIERI

Vito Palmieri was born in Bitonto (Apulia) in 1978. After obtaining a degree in Film Studies at the University of Bologna (Dams), he debuts his first short movie Tana libera tutti (2006) which grants him a nomination at the David di Donatello awards. In 2013 he makes Matilde which is selected at the Berlinale and earns many prestigious awards including Best Short at the Toronto International Film Festival. After several other works, in 2018 he directs Il Mondiale in Piazza winner of the MigrArti award and among the finalists at the Nastri d’argento and Globi d’Oro 2019. His last film is the documentary Riparazioni (2022) whose subject focuses on restorative justice.
