      A very ambitious boy named Mattho tries not only to become World ChampionTaekwondo but to study at Cambridge as well. Oriental Odyssey follows himover a period of three years, in which he works very hard to attain his dreams, by - for example - training with Korean Grandmasters. It shows his hard work, his successes and his disappointments, but mainly his unique and upliftingperseverance. It’s a comic homage to the unattainable dream.

      Dutch filmmaker. Makes short films and documentaries. Fascinated by the human mind and memory he graduated with a documentary on Wouter, a Belgian boy who lost his short term memory. He also made many videos for satirical magazine De Speld, worked as a chief editor video at online magazine hard//hoofd and played in the band Fata 'el Moustache' Morgana. He just finished Oriental Odyssey, a documentary in which he followed Mattho - an extremely ambitious young adult - for three years, including all the ups and downs that come with great ambitions. He is currently working on his first long documentary. ‘Etgar Keret: a truth telling liar’, a film about Etgar Keret, the famous Israeli writer of short surreal stories and the need for storytelling.
