LA COLONIAL

La Colonial is located in one of the oldest working-class neighborhoods in Mexico City. Today, it shelters a community of men, who, faced with the adversity and marginalization of contemporary society, have build a home within themselves.

DAVID BUITRÓN FERNÁNDEZ

 

Filmmaker from Michoacan México, got the degree in Film and Post Production from SAE Institute México. He has worked mainly in writing, directing, photography and editing. He has directed the documentary short film “Zapata 252”, winner of the jury prize within the framework of the Doctubre Challenge of the International Documentary Film Festival of Mexico City in 2017. The documentary short film “Distintos tiempos”, co-directed with Jocelyn López, had its international premiere at the Liberation DocFest Bangladesh, “La Colonial” - his documentary debut, received the Signis Prize at the 35th Rencontres Cinélatino Toulouse and the José Rovirosa award for the best Mexican documentary.
