      Born in 1958 in Bern, Switzerland, Dieter Fahrer attended the Bavarian State School of Photography, Munich. Since 1983 he has worked as a recording and production manager, camera assistant and cinematographer on fiction films and documentaries. Since 1997 he has worked as a manager at Balzli & Fahrer GmbH in Bern. Fahrer is a member of the European Film Academy.
