In rural Bashkiria the only thing connecting tiny remote villages is the river. That’s why the local postwoman Alyona spends most of her time on the water. The relationship between the woman and the river is complicated – the roaring waters took Alyona’s husband from her.
Vilura Isyandavletova is the principal director of the Amir Abdrazakov State Film Studio "Bashkortostan" (Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan). She graduated from VGIK (A. Kochetkov’s and M. Babak's workshop). She directed more than twenty films, and received a number of awards at international film festivals. Vilura is a member of the Russian Filmmakers' Union, winner of the TEFI-Region Award 2007, and Honoured Art Worker of the Republic of Bashkortostan. She directed White, White Snow (2021), At Night I Dream of Horses (2020), What a Wonderful World (2017), etc.
