Itamar Rose tries to discover the recipe for YouTube success. In his own attempt to go viral, the Israeli satirical activist and ineffective content creator comes up against gatekeepers and power monopolies. With humour and caustic wit, he helps us discover how Youtube crafts the dreams of an entire generation and silences the voices of millions.
DIRECTOR
ITAMAR ROSE
Studied at the Sam Spiegel Film School in Jerusalem and started working on satirical material with Yossi Atia, his film partner at that time. They went to the Gaza settlements where they satirically documented the battle. Their films combine documentary and satirical materials. Their work has been seen at the Israeli Center for Digital Art, Holon, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Kunstverein, Hamburg, and at the Tate Gallery, London. 100 Million Views is Rose’s first full-length documentary.
